It took 138 dates for us to find each other
At age 34, I hadn’t been on a date in ten years. I’d been busy focusing on my career building technology companies. But I wanted love. I wanted a family. And I was stuck. So I took the strategies I’d used in business, and applied them to finding a partner. It took me 3 years, dates with 138 different men and a huge amount of learning to find Rod. Then it took a new set of skills to build a strong and healthy relationship. Almost nine, years on, we have two beautiful children and the life of our dreams.
When I released my best-selling book ‘138 Dates’, I was inundated with stories from women and men from all over the world who'd shared similar challenges and were looking for help. Sue from Geelong, who divorced in 2020, wanted advice on recovering from loss and tips for how to meet to eligible men safety. Lisa, 39, had a number of failed relationships and feared she was running out of time to have children. Don, 55, had been on dates with more than 100 women and couldn't figure out why he hadn’t met the right person.
We've created a program for people who are genuinely ready to find love. To build it, we enlisted the world’s best academics studying dating and relationships from universities in Australia, Canada and the UK. We interviewed the CEO of a leading dating platform to understand where people go wrong with their profiles and messages. And we worked with psychologists, a dating coach, sex therapist and a style and grooming specialist to create lessons to prepare you for successful dating and the early stages of a strong life partnership.
Dating and relationships are hard work. Trust me, I know! But the end result is worth every second of effort you put in. Because there truely is nothing more wonderful than waking up next to the person you love and planning a future together. The right relationship will improve every aspect of your life - your mental health, physical health, and even your financial future.
